Hartford Vigil Program

WELCOME:   The Rev. George A. Chien, Senior Pastor, MCC Hartford

SPEAKERS:

Adam N. Schupack, Assistant Director of the Connecticut Regional Office of the Anti-Defamation League

Adam is responsible for responding to discrimination complaints and anti-Semitic incidents, monitoring and exposing extremist group activity, coordinating ADL's outreach to Connecticut's college students and working with the media.

The Rev. Julio Flores, Assistant Pastor MCC Hartford

Julio is a graduate of New York Theological Seminary, and an ordained minister in the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches.  Having moved from New York, where he served on the staff of MCC New York and founded Christ of All Nations MCC, Julio is now Assistant Pastor for Congregational Life at MCC Hartford.

Regina S. Dyton, MSW

A long time activist and advocate for queer communities and communities of color, Regina has served as interim Executive Director of Project 100, and founded FACE (Featuring Every Color and Ethnicity).

Teo Yother, FtM

Teo Yother is a transguy living in Manchester, CT.  He is a longtime AIDS activist and queer activist

CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL:

Volunteers will come forward to light the 19 candles, and take their places around the Chapel.

All are invited to stand, as they feel comfortable doing so.

As each name is read, a candle will be extinguished.

Please observe a moment of silent reflection.

The vigil will conclude with an informal social, and a viewing of the short video, "Transgender Day of Remembrance." by Dion Manley.
